It’s World Space Week! The UN General Assembly declared from the 4th until the 10th of October World Space Week. This was in order to celebrate each year at the international level, the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition. Consists of space education and outreach events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs around the world in a common timeframe. These synchronized space events attract greater public and media attention, which helps educate people on space.
These dates commemorate two events on October 4th. 1957 with the launch of the first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1. And October 10th. 1967 with the signing of the Treaty on the Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration & Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies.
And we were thinking, minding our priorities, how would it be to drink a Beer in space? For one, we must consider that any liquid behaves bizarrely without gravity there to keep it in check. Plus, we would have to say goodbye to the foam as we know it! With the absence of gravity, the bubbles wouldn’t rise, they would distribute randomly, and away from our glass!
